The fruit contains a special protein which binds to the taste buds of the persons tongue. It was discovered around 300years ago by the western world's.

 

History

In the 1970s it was to be marketed heavily in the USA but unfortunately this was banned by the FDA. Many conspiracy theories have surfaced. Mainly that the Sugar companies put pressure on the FDA, as they thought it might put them out of business (a rumour).

The fruit has become famous recently by the New York Times article. People have been having flavour tripping parties all over the world.
